Anime Blast Chattanooga 2018 Postponed

With October halfway over, it’s about that time of year again for Anime Blast Chattanooga, the Scenic City’s fall convention celebrating anime and other relatable interests! But, due to unfortunate circumstances, Anime Blast will not be held in 2018.

Anime Blast Chattanooga is normally held in early November. Previous venues included the Chattanooga Convention Center and the Chattanooga Choo-Choo. However, due to many factors, the Board of Directors have decided to postpone Anime Blast Chattanooga until 2019:

Unfortunately, and after much deliberation, we have decided that this will require us to postpone the con until 2019. In the meantime, we will support and host other smaller events this year, and we hope you join with us for those as we work to keep the anime community active and engaged in Chattanooga.

We also look forward to recruiting more volunteers and staff members, who can help build Anime Blast Chattanooga for 2019 and the future! Your voices matter, and if you’ve ever wanted to be heard and make a difference, now is the time.

So to those of you who were excited for a con this year from us we sincerely apologize; however, we hope to have your voice and your support as we work hard for the future of Anime Blast Chattanooga.

It also came at a time where Anime Blast Chattanooga’s previous venue, the historic Chattanooga Choo-Choo, canceled all special events in 2018 due to restructuring as a residential and lifestyle destination. As you can imagine, this created many headaches for all event organizers in Chattanooga, looking for other venues in and around Chattanooga.

While it’s sad that there’s one less convention to attend in 2018 in a post Dragon*Con and Anime Weekend Atlanta environment, this is a opportunity for the convention to make a strong return in 2019! Let’s wish Anime Blast Chattanooga the best for 2019! Follow Anime Blast on Facebook, Twitter, and their official website!
