Channel Surfing: Valkyria Chronicles (TV Anime)

The following post was originally written in April 2009 as a First Impression post. However, it has been republished as a Channel Surfing post that fits into the brand of the blog series. Enjoy!

I recently finished watching the first episode of another series that is on the Spring 2009 Anime Lineup. This anime is based on a video game of the same name from good old Sega for the Playstation 3, Valkyria Chronicles. Just like Fullmetal Alchemist, this series takes place at the turn of the century. And just like FMA, there’s a war involved–without the Alchemy. Here, it’s just old fashioned strategic fighting.

Let’s Play Series Project: Shenmue I

I’ve struggled for a long time on which game to choose for my first serious Let’s Play series for the channel on YouTube, and I finally figured it out. I choose a game that was near and dear to me back in the early 2000s that, if you think about it hard enough, is very underrated, despite a very successful Kickstarter campaign to develop a third sequel in the Sega RPG series that was thought lost to the vault next to Jet Set Radio. And that game is Shenmue.

Music Spotlight: Top 7 SEGA Sound Team Tracks You’ve Never Heard

I’m a sucker for music from the Sonic the Hedgehog series. But I also adore the music from Sega in general. I don’t know what it is about it that makes their music magical. It’s not a 90s thing, but the jonesing for even modern SEGA Sound Team sounds is strong.
