In an effort to reach out to other users who share like-minded interests after relaunching and rebranding under Centaku Media, I created a Twitch account back in 2015, where I’ve streamed Dragonball Xenoverse, Final Fantasy XIV, and Overwatch. 2018 has been a year where I’ve attempted to set up a stream schedule, due to the convenience of living 10 minutes away from where I work, and the long breaks in between.
However, due to the growing workload, and the sleep difficulties of being a third-shift employee, I have been unable to keep my schedule. Now that I am in a different role at my job, and with slightly more free time, I’ve been streaming on certain days that work for me between writing new posts, and other duties of being an adult. There is also the option of having an impromptu stream during the week. Despite the efforts of keeping a consistent schedule, and finding the perfect game to stream, it’s difficult to find the viewer draw; It’s hard to compete with 10,000+ people playing Overwatch, as well as Fortnite, at any given time.
When I had issues with my internet connection at the end of 2018, I’ve found excitement playing the mobile game Puzzle & Dragons, finding the potential of streaming straight from my phone as an alternative to streaming on the PS4, or via PC. Though from personal experience, I found out that it depends on how you approach the game of your choosing, as well as communicating with those around you: fellow supporters and viewers.
Even so, there should be many ways to approach potential audiences by playing your favorite game. With Twitch implementing much needed features beginning in June, especially a much requested option of sorting streams by the least viewers, or streams who just started for the day, it opens a huge potential for upcoming, and even veteran streamers with less than 100 viewers.
Helping Other Twitch Streamers
Whether you’re a seasoned veteran, or a new streamer, I would like to extend my space to help those in need of exposure, at least to introduce themselves. A “No Viewers Streamer” helping out other No Viewers Streamers, you could say, in turn of making someone into a Small Streamer, and even more! All you need to do is post a link to your Twitch channel, along with your currently streamed games, and your goals on making your channel grow. For example, with this template (also check out my comment in the Comments section):
Link: [Your twitch.tv URL]
Streaming: [Put your games or channel theme here]
Channel Goals: Looking to promote my channel for more viewers, subscribers, and to connect with other streamers!
When writing your stream goals, please write at least one paragraph. However, there’s no limit to write your intro, so you’re free write as much as you feel to define what you want to do! One other thing… do not Copy & Paste other commenters’ goals!
By using the template as displayed in the rules, this will keep the quality under control, and to ensure the rules have been read. Failure to follow these rules will result in the comment being deleted. Also, please refrain from abusing this opportunity for everyone else, as there will be consequences that I really don’t want to detail, but using common sense, such problems can be avoided.
Speaking of consequences, please keep this in mind when leaving a comment. Do NOT leave a comment, such as:
- Reply Done
- I Will Do The Same!
With the above stated, this is not intended to be a “Follow for Follow” or “Host for Host” effort, which, from experience, is a waste of time and emotions, especially with Twitch. Whether you want to reciprocate follows, it should at your discretion. Also, just to avoid hurt feelings, I am going to say this… do not expect me to follow you right away as soon as you post a comment. All I want to do is reach out to those who want to put their name out there to get the audience they need!
If this gets popular, I would like to do something different. But for now, let’s keep everything simple! If you want other streamers to see this, please share this post using the share buttons below! To keep up with the latest updates, subscribe to our newsletter, and you can also follow Centaku Media on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and most importantly, Twitch!
