5 Reasons Why Gundam is Serious Business

In the past, I’ve been very vocal about my appreciation of the Gundam franchise. I was even invited to run a panel for our anime club back in 2009, inspiring a conversion into a three-part blog series on the how and why of Gundam; with recommendations of which Gundam TV anime to divulge into first, in a sea of multiple universes.

In an attempt to rekindle the passion of blogging again, I have remastered all the parts of the Gundam Crash Course series, originally targeted for the 40th anniversary of the franchise. However, for those who are short on time to read all three parts, I present an interesting topic of “5 Reasons Gundam is Serious Business”.

Channel Surfing: Valkyria Chronicles (TV Anime)

The following post was originally written in April 2009 as a First Impression post. However, it has been republished as a Channel Surfing post that fits into the brand of the blog series. Enjoy!

I recently finished watching the first episode of another series that is on the Spring 2009 Anime Lineup. This anime is based on a video game of the same name from good old Sega for the Playstation 3, Valkyria Chronicles. Just like Fullmetal Alchemist, this series takes place at the turn of the century. And just like FMA, there’s a war involved–without the Alchemy. Here, it’s just old fashioned strategic fighting.

Centaku Media Journal: Episode #21

Netflix calls global streaming dibs on the long awaited sixth part of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean, Final Fantasy X’s Tidus could have had a career of another famous video game character, and reporters struggle with the pronunciation of “Gundam” during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics broadcasts.
