Another year of MomoCon is in the books! It was a great year for the event’s 2023 show, and to share the memories with fellow readers, I managed to take some video footage of one area of the con that is underappreciated: the Itasha Showcase!

After two years of lockdowns and shutdowns due to the Coronavirus pandemic, MomoCon is returning for a full weekend of activities and guests at the Georgia World Congress Center on the weekend of Memorial Day 2022. Since it’s been a while since a large-scale event like this has been held for anime fans and otaku in the Southeast US since Anime Weekend Atlanta last September, what do people out of “convention practice” look forward to for MomoCon 2022?

After two years of uncertainty due to the Coronavirus pandemic, things are finally returning to normal–for the most part. With that in mind, a lot of people are considering attending large-scale events again. We still need to do our part when it comes to protecting ourselves and those around us. If you are reading this, you are probably thinking about attending conventions again. Don’t go alone, take these tips for attending a convention in the Pandemic era, from a 20-year convention veteran.

2020 is known as the year without conventions or any events to attend due to COVID-19 concerns. A lot of well known conventions such as MomoCon, Anime Expo, and now soon to be Anime Weekend Atlanta are hosting digital events in lieu of their traditional physical conventions. Metrotham Con is the latest convention to host a virtual event, as well as an outdoor event in Chattanooga.

Declaring an anime convention the “Best Anime Convention” can go based on certain situations. That can be geographic location, experiences, and guests. This is a question asked in many communities, especially for those who have yet to go to an anime convention.

Since 2020 has put us in a situation where attending conventions is not possible due to the world’s current situation, let’s talk about conventions to kill the time until the fire that the year caused is put out.
