I have been personally playing Final Fantasy XIV since 2015, although there have been a few occasions where I went a year or two without a sub until 2020 where I finally caught up with all of Shadowbringers. These years later and there are a few other things I’m still learning, even with two Level 80 jobs.

This past summer the Final Fantasy convention ran by fans, for fans, KupoCon, announced an awards event called “The Crystals”, awarding the best of the Final Fantasy franchise in various categories. The nominees were selected and voted upon where the final winners was selected early in October.

I’ve struggled for a long time on which game to choose for my first serious Let’s Play series for the channel on YouTube, and I finally figured it out. I choose a game that was near and dear to me back in the early 2000s that, if you think about it hard enough, is very underrated, despite a very successful Kickstarter campaign to develop a third sequel in the Sega RPG series that was thought lost to the vault next to Jet Set Radio. And that game is Shenmue.

I’m a sucker for music from the Sonic the Hedgehog series. But I also adore the music from Sega in general. I don’t know what it is about it that makes their music magical. It’s not a 90s thing, but the jonesing for even modern SEGA Sound Team sounds is strong.
