I was deciding whether to talk about this within the Channel Surfing series, or outside of it as a separate post, considering the nature of this next entry I am about to talk about. If you’ve been here for a minute, you can probably tell that I am a huge advocate of the Gundam franchise, and especially of the series that started me on the course of what the franchise has to offer: Gundam Wing.

That’s right… Byakuya can sing! How is this possible?! It’s all about Bleach Soul Sonic. It’s a live, radio-style drama featuring the Japanese voice actors of Bleach. Many of the recordings are parodies of episodes, like this video featuring Byakuya and his voice actor, Ryotaro Okiayu (who is also the voice of Treize Khushrenada), on the career of an Enka singer…

For those who are fans of House music or something of the like, here is one that needs to be taken into consideration, especially if you ever owned a Sega Dreamcast. Back in 2008, I wrote about my discovery of an album from an artist(s) going by Deavid Soul, who was featured in the popular (and underrated) skating/graffiti tagging game, Jet Set Radio (originally known as Jet Grind Radio in North America).

By the time I posted this, the Tumblr account for Weeaboo Stories was taken down, likely for obvious reasons. This post originally included links to the account, but not even the Wayback Machine has them. Bringing back an old post from the early days of the “Ni-Ongaku Spotlight” for the newer audience under Music Spotlight. We take a look at this video of Shing02, and the music video of his single, “Ultimate High”. Shing02 is a Japanese indie Hip-Hop artist who has provided music for the soundtrack for the anime Samurai Champloo, along with the late Nujabes.

February 27th, 2020 marks Pokémon’s 24th anniversary since the release of the first Pokémon games in the series. And what better time than to stumble across a gem from a part of the franchise that is the 2.B.A. Master soundtrack, featuring original music for the English dub of the Pokémon anime?

As I slowly get back into the swing of things, broadening my anime horizons, there is one anime series that I really need to watch more of once I catch up on a few other shows. JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is one series that people would be shocked to find that I haven’t immersed myself in by now. One scene has given me more reason to include it on my immediate watch list.
