Channel Surfing: Pokémon: Twilight Wings Miniseries

This entry is part 1 of 8 in the series Commentary - Pokémon: Twilight Wings

Today’s Channel Surfing entry is of a new webseries called Pokémon: Twilight Wings. It is based on the eighth and current generation of the franchise’s Sword and Shield series, set in the Galar region. When I first found out about it, I thought it was the plot of the recently announced expansions for Gen 8, and I hesitated as I saw that it involved Leon and Chairman Rose: the reason being is that at the time I didn’t participate in the championships yet, and didn’t want to be spoiled of the “results”, hahaha! Then I saw “anime series”, and had to drop everything I was doing at the moment to check it out.

Mobile Suit Abridged Gundam Wing [Channel Surfing]

I was deciding whether to talk about this within the Channel Surfing series, or outside of it as a separate post, considering the nature of this next entry I am about to talk about. If you’ve been here for a minute, you can probably tell that I am a huge advocate of the Gundam franchise, and especially of the series that started me on the course of what the franchise has to offer: Gundam Wing.

Channel Surfing: Welcome to the NHK

The anime Welcome to the NHK (or NHK ni Youkoso! in Japanese) is a series that caught my attention back in 2006 when it first aired. It was also one of the first anime series I wrote about on an anime-centric Blogspot blog “NAKIME” before Centaku Media was launched the following year. And what inspired me to revisit the anime is all due to the current events of the Coronavirus, aka COVID-19, where it is strongly urged to limit social interactions, better yet–not leaving the house at all, whether quarantined or not. Although this anime has nothing to do with the current situation, it’s a timely opportunity to look at the life of a shut-in, for better or worse.

Channel Surfing: Samurai Deeper Kyo

I attempted to watch the Samurai Deeper Kyo anime from Studio Deen many years ago as it was recommended to me in turn of having enjoyed what I watched of Rurouni Kenshin. I even wrote an informal post about it after watching the first few episodes during the early days of Centaku Media back in 2008. I’m bringing that very post back to highlight that this show exists, and perhaps I will finally get around to watching it one of these days.

Channel Surfing: Mobile Suit Gundam 00 S2

A part of this post was written way back in the day, or more like when Mobile Suit Gundam 00 first aired in Japan, and when fansubs were a huge deal. However, this is more relevant due to the fact that I finally finished watching the second season of Gundam 00 after sitting on it for a little over a decade, with the climax of the first season’s finale still fresh in my mind–to an extent.

Channel Surfing: Dr. Stone

In this edition of Channel Surfing, I bring to you Dr. Stone. This series was part of the highly anticipated anime lineup for Summer 2019, and just in time for the season finale, I finally bring myself from my hectic schedule to tell everyone what it’s all about. To me, I think this is the most exciting anime I have ever watched on the level of Fullmetal Alchemist.

Channel Surfing: Summer 2019 Anime Lineup

Coming fresh from another Channel Surfing entry where I talk about the classic anime series, Love Hina, let’s talk about what’s new in the Summer 2019 Anime Lineup. There is so much to choose from, as always, but there is that one series that caught mine, and everyone’s, attention.

Channel Surfing: Love Hina

This post was originally written on March 15th, 2009. Love Hina was also a part of an attempt of a series called “Anime at Large“, which would eventually be renamed to “The Forgotten“, which highlights anime series that I’ve watched in the past, but were lost to license issues, or just general obscurity, in which another way to watch it was sought after. Now that I’ve settled down after the relaunching phase of this blog, it would be perfect to include a classic post as part of the Channel Surfing series!
