The Seoul Searching Chronicles: COEX Aquarium

This entry is part 4 of 6 in the series The Seoul Searching Chronicles

Welcome to part four of The Seoul Searching Chronicles! In this post we went back to the COEX Mall to check out the COEX Aquarium, where we were told that we had to check out during our visit! It’s an aquarium that looks small on the outside, but it was very worth the price of admission (around $20 USD)–and you get to see sharks! Pardon the lack of words moving forward as this was in a format of a “speedrun” so to speak, while at the same time more of being in awe of the attractions. Although I think I took more pictures from this place than anywhere else in Seoul, so only select photos of interest will be highlighted in this post. More pictures and exclusives will be on the Centaku Media page on Facebook following the conclusion of the Seoul Searching series!

The Seoul Searching Chronicles: Starfield (COEX) Mall

This entry is part 2 of 6 in the series The Seoul Searching Chronicles

Welcome to the second part of the Seoul Searching Chronicles! If you’re just tuning in, check out part one chronicling our pathway to our first ever adventure to South Korea, which brings us to what we found in today’s post, featuring one of Seoul’s popular shopping spots. A few weeks prior to our trip, we discussed the places we needed to go check out during our stay, including with a couple of friends who have visited the country in recent years. Together with what we compiled, we set out on our first full day in Korea to the COEX Mall.

The Seoul Searching Chronicles: Arrival in South Korea

This entry is part 1 of 6 in the series The Seoul Searching Chronicles

If you’ve peeked in on this blog and social media accounts relating to Centaku Media for the past year, you remember that I announced that I was to embark on my first ever out of country trip, and the decisions that came about that led to our eventual journey to South Korea. While, out of the sake of privacy and suspense, I did not immediately reveal my trip date, but hinted that it would be in the Autumn of 2019 that this trip would happen, and it finally has. I present to you: The Seoul Searching Chronicles.

K-Pop Rules The World: How South Korea Overtook Japan in Digital Music Choices

If you are into J-Pop, including K-Pop, then you may be wondering why you don’t see enough content outside of Japan of your favorite artists without having to go to great lengths to obtain the latest release. It might be due to a generational issue of complicated, and possibly financial, reasons. I was originally going to just Tweet about this, but this needs more than 280 characters. So I am going to just write about this in a form of a blog post. It’s about the reasons why K-Pop is as global as it is, with even a handful of male J-Pop bands embracing the style of K-Pop. And it all falls back to an interest in music from another country that is right across from South Korea.

Channel Surfing: Dr. Stone

In this edition of Channel Surfing, I bring to you Dr. Stone. This series was part of the highly anticipated anime lineup for Summer 2019, and just in time for the season finale, I finally bring myself from my hectic schedule to tell everyone what it’s all about. To me, I think this is the most exciting anime I have ever watched on the level of Fullmetal Alchemist.

Me Against the Toxic Gaming World – #PoorSportsmanship

I was originally going to make a video based on this post last year, but I think it’s best to put it in writing, especially since I’m attempting to overcome my writer’s block. If you recall my last post in the new series, #PoorSportsmanship, I encountered a player on Overwatch who wanted to have his way in a match where it would not have mattered anyway. This inspired me to go back to my roots and recalled the “negative vibes”–toxic gaming behavior from other players when it comes to online games; coming from a creator Point-of-View, as well as in real life.

Weekly Stream Notes: Issue #1

You’re reading the first edition of the Weekly Stream Notes, highlighting news and stream highlights every week during the livestreams on the Centaku Media channel on Twitch. The idea was inspired from the Weekly Minutes I wrote as Secretary in our local anime club, Scenic City Anime & More, and from the original blog series inspired from those minutes, The CEN.TAKU.ME Journal. With these minutes, it will help introduce Centaku Media to both readers and viewers, new and old, as well as helping myself in keeping up with the littlest things I said during a 3 hour broadcast.

Channel Surfing: Love Hina

This post was originally written on March 15th, 2009. Love Hina was also a part of an attempt of a series called “Anime at Large“, which would eventually be renamed to “The Forgotten“, which highlights anime series that I’ve watched in the past, but were lost to license issues, or just general obscurity, in which another way to watch it was sought after. Now that I’ve settled down after the relaunching phase of this blog, it would be perfect to include a classic post as part of the Channel Surfing series!
